Kerry’s Update

Kerry makes the 2 hour drive home from Phoenix on Sunday afternoon.  She was actually discharged from the hospital late Friday, but felt in no condition to drive the distance at that time so she stayed at a hotel near the hospital Friday night.  That turned out to be a very wise decision because she developed an allergy to the antibiotic, and needed to see the doctor in the morning.  Her antibiotic prescription was changed but the doctor advised her to stay near the hospital for the next 24 hours in case an allergy developed to the new medication.

What they were able to do for her while she was in the hospital was a temporary fix, however.  The kidney stone removal can’t be done until the infection she has which is related to it, is completely gone.  She will need to return to Phoenix at a yet unknown date within the next week or two for that procedure.

Annabelle is so happy to see her mom!  But so are my dogs.  If you have experienced one of Joy’s greetings, you will know exactly what I’m talking about! 🙂

Kerry stopped for some Thai food while in the big city, and she shared it with me for our dinner.  What a treat that was!  Over dinner we discussed ideas about how we can work out the dog-sitting for the upcoming procedure.  Since we don’t yet know when it’s happening or if she will be and in or out patient, it’s difficult to plan, but at least we come up with ideas.

In the mean time we are both feeling the need for some of the finer things in life, like electricity, unlimited hot showers, and laundry facilities.  I have previous reservations for a weeks stay at the RV Park in Q that I spent some time in before boondocking, starting on Tuesday.  Kerry will probably end up in town as well, ASAP, so the story will continue….

Here are pictures of how the sun said good night on the last two evenings.

Thanks for the update – what timing on your meeting – the stars were certainly aligned. New or old, friends are our most cherished asset.

Did she check to see if the hospital has an area for RVers? Twice now we have camped at hospitals, with electric and water, for free…one was when my wife was having problems, and one was for two weeks when my daughter had a concussion. Just something you might want to check into. Sure nice of you to be helping her out like this, a real blessing to have you around in her time of need. –Dave (

  4. Hi Dave, that’s right, I do remember you mentioning staying in a hospital parking area. I think I forgot that you had hook ups though. What a nice set up. I’ll mention it to her, thank you for reminding me. And thanks for your kind words.

    Good Morning

I am so happy you and Kerry found each other! When I was in Oregon and had all that trouble, the Good Samaritan hospital had RV sites with hook ups. Something to check on. My thoughts are with Kerry through this difficult time. Sending up prayers.

    • Hi Krystina, I was thinking about you during this time…how hard it must have been for you. Glad you didn’t have to worry about a pet too. Hope you are doing well now and will be having Christmas with that grand baby of yours!
Another hospital with RV hookups! Good to know they are out there.
