Ouch!

My back hurts!

This is a chronic thing I’ve had over the years related to abusing my back as an RN. Since I retired though, flare-ups have been rare and usually mild. Mild until a few days ago when I began to notice some pain and then yesterday it got much worse and isn’t something I’d describe as mild. It’s come complete with muscle spasms, just in case the jolting, zinging sensations with movement are not enough!

I’m about 15 miles from Butte, Montana, in a lovely spot surrounded with mountains, and the weather is good. When I arrived here I paid for two nights and asked if I needed to stay longer, would it be ok? No problem there.

My plan was to stay here at Fairmont RV Park and Campground and use it as a base while I explored the surrounding BLM and National Forest campgrounds….there are quite a few by the looks of the map. If I found something to my liking I was considering staying there up to a week longer. Now, the way things stand, I’m not in much of an exploring mood. I wasn’t even able to walk Joy and Shiloh this evening. My back needs to rest and heal.

If you have a moment to sent some good healing energy and/or prayers my way it would be much appreciated!

Sending lots of healing energy your way, Micky!
I wish you were here so I could help with stuff.
    love ~ Marian

    • Yes, exactly what I need to do Marian. I find it feels slightly better in the morning ( and then I have all these things I think I shoul be doing) which leads me to believe I really do need to sit and stay for awhile. Rest is helping. Taking it one day at a time…so just for today. Hard, because the dogs want to walk and you know the look they give. I try to explain but that look doesn’t change. Oh the guilt! 😏

The healing you need is on its way! There is nothing to worry about; there is nothing to fear!

  3. Krystina says:

Oh no…the dreaded back pain!!! I hope you can rest enough to make it go away. My entire life changed when mine started hurting about 35 years ago. Kiss the kids for me. 🙂

    • Hi Krystina, I can rest. I have no deadlines to meet except in my own mind. Well and in my dogs minds! They will be ok though, resting in camp today.
Are you in Vermont? Have winter plans?

      • Krystina says:

Yep, still in Vermont. It is beyond perfect here. Still not sure what I am doing. My granddaughter Nora is beyond adorable….love, love, love her to the moon and back! I will be sending up prayers for your back…and you. 🙂

  4. Sending you best wishes. Re-read minicooper10’s comment; it says it all – wonderfully.

Ditto to all the loving wishes and sending a healing white light to surround you. Stay put ‘time is on your side’…..

Prayers said. Rest and take the appropriate meds. You know what works for you. And be sure to drink enough water. So sorry about the ouchies.

Healing energy coming your way. May you find comfort, peace and serenity in your day!

  8. Hi Michael. Thanks for the good energy. Yes, change of plans…and that can be good, too. That’s a zen thing, right? 😊

Holding you in my heart. I have similar issues so I can relate to the spasms and pain. When you are hurting nothing else matters.
But this too shall pass, lots of healing thoughts headed your way.

    • BadgerRickInWis says:

Didn’t mean the above to sound contrite. I say it with the full knowledge that you know better than most how to take care of yourself.

  10. I appreciate the healing thoughts Badger Rick. And I appreciate any advice, suggestions, etc. To be honest I’m not a very good patient. I tend towards denial, Big Time. And see, I know that yet I still do it.
The rest is helping though, yay! I’ve extended my time here at this place by two nights so far, so I have time to just do nothing but relax, read…and use my free wifi. My challenge is to just do that, and not find something to clean or organize or cook or try to fix or somewhere to go. Just be still for awhile. Jeesh, why should that be difficult?

  11. Pam says:

Ya gotta stop and smell the roses. Rest, relax give the dogs a big hug and everything will be fine

  12. Hi Pam,
Yes nothing like back pain to get one to stop. Just stop! Hugs to dogs for sure.

  13. Laura says:

Oh Micky, we’re so sorry that your back is hurting you! I wish we could come on out and help, at least walk the puppies. Sending our best your way and gentle hugs 🙂

Sending healing energy and good thoughts your way. My back knows only too well what yours is going through. Rest and relaxation are key to getting better. Hope you’ll soon be out there walking with your dogs again!
